EADS Composites Aquitaine has obtained approval for tanks with 300 bar service pressure intended as breathing apparatus equipment of the fire-fighters. These tanks are manufactured with carbon fibers filament winding on aluminium or thermoplastic liners.
The performances of these composites tanks for pressurized gas storage (weight saving, corrosion resistance, electrical protection) are not only well adapted to breathing apparatus but also to other applications such as vehicles fuel tanks.

The market development of gas powered vehicles depends mainly on the optimization method and capacity for on-board fuel storage.
Thanks to the weight saving they provide, the composite tanks perfectly match the demand of this fuel.
The composite materials enable also to meet the requirements of the very high pressure (700 bar service pressure) for new type of fuel such as Hydrogen.
Thanks to its experience in the hooping technology, EADS Composites Aquitaine is able to answer to specific applications : riser hooping and peripheric lines dedicated for the investigation in deep sea. With a diameter of 4 to 16 inches and undergoing pressure of
15 000 PSI, these tubes make it possible to push back the investigation in deep sea.
